Cuvée « Syrah » Vin de France

Varieties: 100 % Syrah, (old vines)
Vin de France

Vinification: Maceration precedes alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in conical vats. Whole cluster and destemmed grape usage varies per winemaker’s discretion, with punch downs and pump overs applied as necessary.

Ageing: Prolonged 10-12 month maturation in 225L Demptos Bordeaux barrels of diverse oak origins and toasts adds complexity. Select barrels experience an additional 10-12 months in upright and lying Garbellotto oval casks. A minimum 2-year bottle aging follows before commercialization, offering depth and complexity for immediate enjoyment or further cellaring.

The vintage boasts a solar year, offering a rich and aromatic profile. Despite its intensity, the wine retains a sense of elegance.

This wine offers a complex and captivating bouquet, with notes of red and black fruit, grape marc, and lightly smoked spices that make their presence felt on the nose. A subtle hint of violet adds a touch of elegance to the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine continues to impress, displaying both aromatic and peppery qualities that are enhanced by a smooth and lightly mineral texture. Precious woods, black fruit, griotte cherries, and smoked leather all make their mark, while a delicate touch of violet further adds to the wine's overall depth and complexity. The wine's velvety material is ample, with well-rounded and enrobed tannins that lend further complexity to the wine's overall profile. Whether you choose to savor this wine now or cellar it for further aging, it is sure to offer a delightful sensory experience that will leave a lasting impression.
